Toasters very own Tracy Thomason was elected International Director during the Toastmasters International Convention in Vancouver, British Columbia, two weeks ago.
Tracy has been a member of Toasters Club since 2006 when he joined while he was Area Governor. Since then he's served our club as our President and Vice President Education. He has also served our fellow members in District 23 as a Division Governor, Lieutenant Governor Marketing, and District Director.
"There's something very special going on in Toasters," said Tracy. "We've been Distinguished the last 6 years. During that time, our members have filled 11 district offices. There's a great energy in this club."

Toasters Members Receive District Recognition
Four members of Toasters Toastmasters club in Lubbock, Texas, received recognition from District 23 for their extraordinary efforts during the 2015-2016 Toastmasters year.
Lisa Thomason, Gary Johnson, Dustin McEwen, and Kim Davis (pictured below) volunteered for roles as Club Coaches and helped three struggling clubs achieved Distinguished status before July 1, 2016. Lisa and Dustin coached the Eloquent Raiders club that meets at Texas Tech University. Gary coached the Downtown club that meets at River Smith's. And Kim coached the Lubbock Professional club that meets at Greenlawn Church of Christ.
All four are long-time members of Toasters club which meets every Thursday morning from 7:00am to 8:00am at the Lubbock Eye Clinic (3702 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas.)

Kim Davis Elected Division F Director
Kim Davis, a long time member of Toasters club and our current Area 62 Director was recently elected to the position of Division F Director for District 23 Toastmasters. As one of her first jobs as Division Director, Kim delivered some Triple Crown pins and also received her official Division Director pin during a Toasters Toastmasters club meeting on May 18, 2017.
Kim is the Community Relations Manager at Mosaic and uses her Toastmasters skills to help promote the Mosiac and the wonder work it is doing.

Toasters member Dustin McEwen is the newest Competent Communicator in Lubbock, Texas.
By completing all ten speech projects in Toastmasters International's Competent Communication manual, Dustin earned his Competent Communication award and received his name badge from club President Kyle Word.

That's right, read it and weep. Our friend and long time Toasters member leveraged his Toastmasters skills into a better job and is now moving to Memphis, Tennessee, to be the Associate Dean of Students at the University of Memphis.

Eddie Retires
A Toastmaster for over 20 years and a member of Toasters Toastmasters club here in Lubbock for over half of that, Eddie Payne recently announced that he'd be retiring from his job at X-Fab. To fulfill his and his wife's plans for the future, Eddie is also retiring from Toasters club.
Toasters threw a party for Eddie today and honored him with an engraved clock.
We'll miss you, Eddie, and we hope you wake up early once in a while and come and visit us!
